A person wearing glasses and a red cap looks slightly to the side while holding their hair. They wear a light blue distressed denim jacket over a mustard-yellow top, posed against a plain green background.

Shaye Murray

Shaye’s comedy playfully blends absurdity and tension to probe the depths of gender, sexuality and relationships. Unavoidably rooted in a rural Newfoundland upbringing, she surveys the cultures and identities that confine, define and intertwine us all. Shaye’s too-cute-by-half humour revels in the complexities of old habits and new normals. She’s been spotted at open-mics, showcases and festivals in St. John’s, NL: headlining Last Minute Comedy and Laughs at Landwash, and filling seats at NL Sketchfest, St. John’s Pride and the Quartz Festival. Her debut comedy special “Meaning to Tell You”– co-produced by NewFunny and shot in a sold out LSPU Hall– releases Fall 2025.
